On the 20th December 2014 I was treated to a day in a spa. Washed out and exhausted by the years work, I had held so much, spun so many plates, as we all do... I drove home feeling rested at last, feeling some semblance of the possibility of renewal. On the journey home I pulled over in the dark and mist to scribble this song down.

The plates kept on spinning and I've only recently found time to record it. We are all so busy. Our many plates continuously spin. But we can take time to walk away, to breath, to watch the clouds passing, to listen attentively to a child, to call friend. The plates do not all come crashing down. Well not all of them anyway.

Wishing you all a very peaceful restfull time this midwinter. Whatever space you can get to connect with yourself, may you revel in it and come out ready for all that is to come.

Oh winter solstice I'm glad you have come
my body is tired from all that Ive done
I'll rest here a while in your deep winters night
Revived and renewed I'll awake with the light

The dark I'll not fear, I'll slumber so deep
Oh clarity, wisdom, strength come while I sleep
I'll wake with the dawn so vital and fresh
And know at this time it was right that I rest

Oh light come in gently oh light come in slow
oh light come in show me all that I will know
I'll wake with your dawn, full of peace, full of rest
And know at this time, to slow down was the best.
